My new book is out
The Idol of the Marketplace
Just a very short email to let you know that my new book is out now. It’s called The Idol of the Marketplace and is a gnostic noir. It’s £12 and just fifty copies of the first pressing have been printed. So it’s *rare*. The initial batch of pre-orders have been posted out and there are about eleven copies left for you to buy. You can do that here.
Here’s my writing playlist to give you an idea of the mood.
Dr Naomi Foyle, poet, sci-fi author, and Reader in Critical Imaginative Writing at the University of Chichester kindly says this about the book …
“In Thomas Sharp's thrillingly original 'Gnostic Noir' verse sequence, humanity’s shared reality might prove ‘a crime / too zeitgeist to truly solve’ – but even as these mercurial, ufological poems confound orthodox moral and narrative expectations, they build a subtle, learned case for language as a tarnished key to the labyrinth that lies within us all.”
And Karina, Poetess, Playwright kindly says this …
“We feel it. The Biblical swarm. Choking. Bard’s mouth explodes. Language kinked tight. Bardic tendrils starting the overrun. Psychic warfare licking the holes to “the last, wet second”, the world is in fusion, in heat, sticky, rigged, and we are narcotically unaware, lapping, inviting, prone, illiterate. My favourite book by Thomas yet. He is rattling the bone. Read it.”
Thanks, as ever, for your support. This is a self-published poetry book by an unknown poet about UFOs and gnosticism … and still nearly forty people from America, Canada, India, Australia, Germany and the UK have taken a chance and bought it in advance of publication. I do think that maybe the algorithms don’t know us very well after all.
